My dad used to take us here when we were headed up North so I had to take my daughter. We stopped in and the service was very good. We ordered Buffalo Ranch Chicken Fries as an appetizer. They were so good. My daughter ordered Cod Nuggets and Fries. She loved them. I ordered the 2 Piece Fried Chicken(Sunday Special) The chicken was so good. Great Food and Great Service. We will be back!!!

Neat little bar. Busy place for Taco Tuesday. We had tacos, quesadillas, and nachos. It's pretty good food for a small town bar. I consider myself an Onion Ring Connoisseur, so I had to order the rings. They were decent. A little too greasy and not crispy enough, but edible. Our server was adorable and did a great job. Give it a try.

Burgers, onion rings, cheese curds... all amazing! ... and if you like fish, their fish fry to the best! They are just off the Fred Meijer Trail, which makes it a great stop while out biking. There is a nearby landing for the Pine River also.

First time visiting after hearing many great things about this place. I decided to ride my bike the 9 miles from Alma on the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail to the Tavern as it is located just south of the trail. It was a Tuesday night so they had $3 nachos and $1 tacos and quesadillas. The staff and fellow patrons were very friendly and the Tavern is clean. I really enjoyed my dinner and will definitely return.

Hadn't been there in years. I took my best friends daughter to share in memories that I had made with her mother there. We used to ravel all over michigan on weekend trips following our Lost in Michigan books.

Wanted to try some place different to eat and saw this place had a good rating. It is a quaint old tavern with 100 year old antique bar and wood interior. Lot's of unique animal trophies on wall creating a country bar atmosphere. Menu offers a variety of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, as well as seafood (scallops, ocean perch, cod, frog legs, etc). We tried the fried cheese curds, fried mushrooms, burger plate (fries & applesauce), and frog legs. The food was great. Cheese curds, mushrooms, and Frog legs all had a good balance of light coating to flesh allowing flavors to come through. Burger was perfectly cooked and moist. The fries were good and properly cooked (crisp edges but soft inside) ... but a little thin cut for me. Service was good ... friendly and efficient even though only 1 server there at mid day on a Tuesday. Definitely going to return and be high on my local eatery list.
